How it all began...
A long, long, time ago, I was born. All Star Trek jokes aside, I was born quite some time ago and growing up as a youngster my family would heat our home with wood that my dad and I milled ourselves. I would spend a few weekends a year in the woods near Redwood Falls, Minnesota helping my dad and my uncle Terry mill and log downed or dead trees. Today it is some of my fondest memories as my cousin and I worked alongside our father's to help fell, mill and chop wood.
Admittedly, my punishment as a boy was to either chop or stack wood. And today it would appear that gluten for punishment remains as I continue these traditions using the skills and experiences I learned long ago. Ironically, now my own son is busy helping me mill and stack lumber as we continue this journey. I moved to a property knowing it would require a lot of tree care and tree work and really I most literally "fell" into this industry, one tree at a time.
After removing and pruning many of my own tree's neighbors and friends quickly got word of my skills and employed me to help with their tree care needs. I decided I better get some insurance, and in the process met some fellow US Military Veterans. Now today, as I write this we have serviced and cared for hundreds of trees in and around the North Metro area, and we look forward to helping you.
Enjoy these pictures of my late Uncle Terry's crafty woodworking. Not only was he impressive with a saw, he was also quite a talented woodworker as you can see with this Rocking Horse appropriately named "The Old Gray Mare" and Rocking Puppy that he hand milled. I often think of my Uncle Terry when my saws are ripping; may he rest in peace.
